The main banana producers of Costa Rica (multinational and independent farmers) visited Monreri´s experimental farm located in Guapiles (Costa Rica), where were presented the different trials carried out with Daymsa solutions against Black Sigatoka.

Representatives of Daymsa´s subsidiaries in Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil assisted to the event along with the main producers of Costa Rica.

Black Sigatoka, caused by Mycosphaerella fijiensis fungus, is a foliar disease that represents the main threat for the Musaceae family (bananas and plantains) production worldwide. This disease affects the foliar photosynthetic part of the plant and, therefore, bunches and fruits have a lower weight in comparison with healthy plants.

This event confirms Daymsa as a brand of reference in the commercialization of Biostimulants and Biocontrol products for banana, a key crop worldwide and especially in Central America.

After the visit to the trial fields, Daymsa´s team presented some of its main solutions for banana. The event ended with a meal and an interesting table talk about other agronomic questions regarding banana production.

Madurel®: table grape colour enhancer

Madurel®: table grape colour enhancer

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text el_class=”semigordo”]Madurel® is a tool to increase the colour of red varieties of table grape[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]Colour is a very important requirement in the marketing of red varieties of table grapes.

Varieties such as Crimson Seedless, Flame Seedless or Red Globe frequently do not reach sufficient colour development, and may be cause for rejection or loss of value.

There are many factors that influence the intensity of the colour of the vine berries, among them it is worth mentioning the light intensity, temperature, fruit load, leaf area, diseases due to viruses, nutrition, use of hormones and growth regulators, etc. (Kliewer, 1977).

Daymsa, the first European producer of leonardite and leader in the biostimulant and biocontrol sector has developed Madurel®, a nutritional intake tool that improves colour.

Results of applications in Red Globe and Crimson Seedless, showing the inducing effect of staining of Madurel® are shown in Figures 1 and 2.

The main benefits of Madurel® are:

  • Maximises the colour of red varieties
  • Homogenises maturity
  • Increases sugar content
  • Prevents the side effects of synthetic hormones: does not reduce the quality or condition of the berries and rachis.
  • Free from residue, enabling application between harvests.

The use of Biostimulants on Rice Daymsa y Qabtur Event
