The main banana producers of Costa Rica (multinational and independent farmers) visited Monreri´s experimental farm located in Guapiles (Costa Rica), where were presented the different trials carried out with Daymsa solutions against Black Sigatoka.

Representatives of Daymsa´s subsidiaries in Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil assisted to the event along with the main producers of Costa Rica.

Black Sigatoka, caused by Mycosphaerella fijiensis fungus, is a foliar disease that represents the main threat for the Musaceae family (bananas and plantains) production worldwide. This disease affects the foliar photosynthetic part of the plant and, therefore, bunches and fruits have a lower weight in comparison with healthy plants.

This event confirms Daymsa as a brand of reference in the commercialization of Biostimulants and Biocontrol products for banana, a key crop worldwide and especially in Central America.

After the visit to the trial fields, Daymsa´s team presented some of its main solutions for banana. The event ended with a meal and an interesting table talk about other agronomic questions regarding banana production.
